In the fall of '23, I served as the Technical Director for Temple Opera's rendition of Lucretia. This pivotal role involved collaborating closely with the scenic designer to bring our vision to life within budget constraints. I was responsible for drafting set components, coordinating construction schedules, and strategically sourcing materials to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
During my internship with Tait, I specialized in Mechanical Fabrication within the Water Spiders department. As a Water Spider, my role was crucial in preparing kits for fabrication by meticulously gathering and preparing all necessary components. This involved tasks such as collecting, sanding, and organizing metal and wood pieces, along with hardware, ensuring they were ready for welding or assembly. Each kit was meticulously labeled and organized on carts to streamline the assembly process. Click below to discover more about my internship experience!
In the fall of 2023, I was fortunate to contribute to the planning of the STHM 2023 Career Fair. This event welcomed students from various majors and minors within STHM to explore internship opportunities, gain industry insights, and seek employment. As a member of the Industry Relations Partner group, I played a pivotal role as the primary liaison between our organization and the participating companies. Our efforts culminated in the creation of essential documents such as the Information Packet, Logistic Plan for the Day of Operations, and Confirmation Email.
During the summer of '22, I served as a carpenter at Upper Darby Summer Stage, where our team embarked on the ambitious task of constructing seven unique stage sets within a span of nine weeks. In addition to our carpentry duties, we had the privilege of instructing the technical theater campers on set construction techniques. A distinctive aspect of our work was the progressive expansion of the stage sets throughout the summer, culminating in the elaborate set design for Summer Stage's flagship production, Spongebob the Musical (pictured below). All productions were part of the summer camp program, showcasing the talents of the campers who not only performed but also contributed to building the sets. This experience provided invaluable opportunities for teaching, honing problem-solving skills, and furthering my development in the field of carpentry.
During my tenure at Saxbys from August 2021 to March 2024, I held various roles including barista, culinary team member, beverage expert, and host. This multifaceted experience allowed me to refine my customer service skills, ensuring that guests received their drinks and food promptly and to their satisfaction. My time at Saxbys provided invaluable opportunities for personal growth and professional development in the hospitality industry.
During the summer of '21, I held the role of banquet server at Folino's Winery, where I catered to weddings and private events. My responsibilities involved taking food and drink orders, as well as serving hors d'oeuvres and desserts to guests. Working at Folino's provided me with invaluable opportunities to hone my customer service skills, ensuring that each guest's experience was nothing short of exceptional as they celebrated their special occasions.
